March BarkBox
Another month and another BarkBox.
The pups favorite thing in the box this month was the packet of Teeny Treats from Feel Good Treats The treats are wheat, corn and soy free so great for dogs with allergies.
The peanut butter treats from Little Eatz were so yummy, and how do I know? Well they are created so they are edible for both dogs and humans, although they were a bit hard for my teeth!!
This month's box also contained a pretty cool poop bag dispenser and poop bags with the Angie's List info on. The super cute mouse was from Lollycadoodle All their toys are 100% wool and handcrafted in Nepal. The blue bone is a hemp bone stuffed with 100% recycled post - consumer plastics from Harry Barker.

From the mouths of hardware store workers
Had to share the conversation I had with the cashier in the hardware store today.
Cashier: Hi ma'am how are you today?
Me: Good thanks
Cashier: Cor blimey guv'nor - you're British (said in a very British accent)
Me: Yes I am
Cashier: (again in a British accent) Yes I am - that's so cute, you are so cute
I smiled politely in the hope the conversation would end there....
Cashier: have you heard of the spice girls?
Me: yes
Cashier: did you meet them?
Me: no but I used to live near one of their houses (true fact - one of then lived in Maidenhead!)
Cashier: (in an extremely loud and excited British accent) Oh my blooming god, that is spiffing
I roll my eyes at her and smile, I can feel the people behind me in line getting anxious for me to leave!
Cashier: did you watch their movie?
She then starts acting out scenes from the movie - including a scene about a little black dress!!
Me: I never saw the movie (ok that's a lie!!)
Cashier: do you like it when we mock your accent? Or not?
Me: I'm used to it, it's happens a lot
Cashier: you said 'a lot' that is so cute. I wish I could talk like you all the time.
Me: that's what everyone says
Cashier then goes back to scanning my goods (finally)
Then the best line I've heard yet
Cashier: so do you have special classes at school where you learn to talk like that? I wish we had classes like that.
Me: (after deciding not to burst her bubble) - yes at elementary school we have special speech lessons
Yes, I know I shouldn't encourage them.
Finally my goods are all rung up and she tells me the amount - clarifying I have to pay her in American dollars not British euros (yes again I didn't correct her that we still have the good old pound!)
Me: thanks
Cashier: (in a British accent) have a spiffing day, are you going home for a cup of tea now
Me: yes!!
Cashier: do you think I would be allowed to live in England if I could talk like you?
Me: maybe
Cashier: there are lots of you (I guess she meant Brits) living here, it's not fair. But it's OK as I think you are all cute. Come back soon and talk to me
At which point I left.

February Bark Box
Nearly forgot to blog about this month's BarkBox!
As usual Bluey was super eager to open the box when it arrived!!

I loved the cute newspaper toy, it has a squeaky in it and also has a scrunchy sound too it, Bluey loves racing around with it. It comes from PetQweks
The teddy bear knot toy is from Aussie Naturals and is made with jute, cotton, coconut fiber and natural gum rubber, all their products are tested by Atlanta rescue dogs.
The Wet Noses (what a super cute name and super cute packaging!), they are organic treats that dont contain corn, wheat or soy.
The Get Naked chews are dental chews from N-Bone, great way to help keep your dogs teeth and breath sweet :)
We also received a $10 off coupon for wag.com they deliver pet products, I am using a similar site at the moment, but will definitely give this site a try and will use the $10 off coupon.

January BarkBox Review and giveaway
Those of you who follow my blog will know I am a big fan of BarkBox, and in fact I found out today I was one of their first ever customers when they launched 13 months ago.
Each month you receive a box with 4 - 6 items in it. They include a variety of items, all of them a surprise until the box arrives. Check back through my previous blog posts to see previous box contents.
My dogs know they get a box each month, and I let them rip open the box. This months box must have smelled extra good as it didn't take Bluey long to open the box and pull out the first treat.
The first treat was a 100% beef bully stick from Barkworthies - these have been included in the box before and are a huge hit with my two. Luckily I was able to break it into two so they could have half each.
The next item was a 'wee-nut' from Ruff Dawg, it's a rubber toy made in the USA and you can stuff it with treats.
The yumzies are all natural, grain free treats from Nootie, my two have had these in the past and again are huge huge fans of them. Hopefully they will enjoy the peanut butter flavored one.
How cute is this toy, apparently he is called Elton the Octopus and he is from Jax and Bones, not only do they make cute toys, they donate a portion of each sale to The Rescue Train - an organization that is dedicated to saving animal lives.
When you sign up for your BarkBox you select the size of your dog, small (0-20lbs) - this is the size I get each month, medium (20-50lbs) or large (50lbs+). You then have three subscription options. You can pay monthly which is $29 a month, or you can pay up front for 3 months which is $23 a month, or you can go for the 6 month subscription which works out at $18.20 a month, this is the option I go for. BarkBox also donate 10% of all proceeds to local shelters and rescues, I'm not sure which ones, as I couldn't see anything on their site, but they do send an update email each month (which I must confess I don't read!) so it maybe featured in there.
They have also launched a new service where members can get 25% off popular products for a limited time.

Palmolive Fresh Infusions
I've been getting free stuff again!
I recently got sent a box of the new Palmolive Fresh Infusions - thanks to Influenster.
They recommend you keep one or two bottles and share with your friends too. It was a hard choice deciding which one to keep - they all smelled so good I wanted to keep them all. In the end I settled on keeping the Lime Basil one, and gave two of my lucky friends the other two bottles, which were Ginger White Tea and Lemon Thyme.
I was washing dishes this morning and it really does smell awesome, and does a great job of cleaning the dishes. Plus the bottle looks really pretty next to the sink :)
I was lucky enough to receive some money off coupons to share also, but I made sure I kept one back for me so I can go buy another bottle. They are currently on sale at Walmart and Target and are priced at $2.99

Postcrossing
Today I received my 100th postcard since joining Postcrossing - so thought it was about time I updated you with some photos of how it is going.
First of all lets give some credit to my 100th postcard I received today - it came from Thunder Bay in Canada from Nature-Lover. It looks and sounds like a beautiful place to live.
I've been a member of the site for 9 months, and it certainly makes it fun sending and receiving mail. If you do sign up it is entirely up to you how many cards you send and how often, so it can be as cheap as you want it to be. Although the site does cap how many you can have traveling at one time. I buy my cards from Pier 39 usually where I get 5 for $1, stamps range from 32c (mailing within US) to $1.05 (international).
I purchased some display pouches from amazon, each one holds 40 photos or 80 if you want to make it double sided and the pouches are $21.00. I think it is a nice way to display the cards and I have them hung on the walls in my office. Unfortunately the cute dogs are an added extra!
In the 9 months I have successfully sent 110 cards to a total of 27 countries, and I currently have 6 traveling and sadly 5 expired (which means they didn't reach their destination within 60 days), although I have had previous expired cards take over 90 days and then get registered. The 100 (well 101 in fact) cards I have received have come from a total of 25 countries. I've taken some stats from the site to show you the breakdown, I also think it is interesting to see the time traveled data too. I personally log my cards on the day they are received, but I know some people hold their cards and log once a week, so this could make up for some of the longer sent times.
If you love sending and receiving mail, this is a great site for you to sign up to.
